It all started with the meeting of Jerina and Anouk, at a concert in Nijmegen. During the break one of them remarked ‘I would love to be in a band like this’, and a plan was formed.
Their first try-out was at the streetmusicians festival in Elst (2008). This is where they met Patrick, playing the didgeridoo. They asked him to join, and this made the foundation for the band.
The three musicians all loved folk music, and particularly playing with rhythm and styles. The aim was never to make traditional folk music, but to make folk music fit for this day and age. This meant they sometimes changed time-signatures of music, or mixed tunes from different countries/style to make new tunes. This has created Faerydae’s signature style.
